Our Story
The Rebirth of the Manueline Treasure
It is within the walls of Marvão, at the top of the Serra do Sapoio, that the Casa da Janela Manuelina presents itself and represents itself as a living testimony of the 16th century.
This National Monument, once the residence of influential nobility and a symbol of social status during the Age of Discovery, underwent meticulous rehabilitation that unified three traditional houses.
Today, the Marvão Hotel & Museum preserves the mystique of its canopy arch and centuries-old walls. Every corner holds stories and memories of the past.
Now, we want to invite you to create your own memories in an inclusive space where everyone is welcome!
The Castle Street Museum, located within the Hotel building, takes us on a journey through time, back to an era so symbolic for Marvão – the reign of King Sancho II, who left us the Stone, the Gunpowder, its functionality, and the customs of another era.
Here we can contemplate our history, the richness of the past, while enjoying the beauty of the present and the modern comfort of the space.

Environment
Imagine what it's like to rest, to let your thoughts relax, to create memories inside a castle at an altitude of 860 meters! It's not just a stroll, a stay, or a meal. It's a true sensory experience!
Marvão invites you to stroll through cobbled streets, majestic gardens, and veritable guard posts and bastions, typical of border military architecture.
It's time to put the clock down and rest in our history for a few days, at a leisurely pace…
